As a true "noobie" using this software, I can say that I'm sure I greatly benefited from taking Aaron's beginner classes versus trying to teach myself. Although there are many quick little "tutorials" on the Internet to do a specific thing in Photoshop, they don't really teach you why you are doing it that way. In these classes, you learn how and why, as well as multiple ways to accomplish what you want to do. You learn techniques that will make things easier for you. He'll teach you how to do some of the things he's done in his pictures on Flickr. You work on things right along with Aaron. You also learn from the others in the class because people have great questions, and Aaron really does an excellent job with answering and helping and making sure you understand. He is truly an awesome teacher. The bottom line is that when you are finished with the four weeks, you will have learned a lot about using the software and photo techniques while having a great deal of FUN! I'm looking forward to learning even more in his advanced classes in the future.
I would recommend this class to others who really want to learn various ways to use Photoshop to accomplish what they are trying to do as well as to learn about things they can do that they may not even know about. Plus, it's fun!

Aaron presented class in a way that was very easy to follow. When we "stepped it up" and went very fast it was still easy to follow. He was always willing to stop and answer any questions we had and I especially liked that he would show us the lighting set up. I now find it extremely easy to detect lighting placements in (most) photos! He also entertained us with his hilarious jokes! If I wasn't going to be in another country for the month of may I would definitely sign up again and plan on signing up for any classes after the next one.

Best Photoshop-related investment I've made in recent, or distant, memory. Coolest, most real-world PS curriculum I've seen anywhere - and I challenge you to find a better teacher than Aaron. Whatever your current skill-level, rest assured that you will learn a lot.
I would recommend (and have been recommending) Aaron's classes without hesitation. Why? Because Aaron himself is as gifted a pedagogue as he is an artist; because penguins and pandas are equals in his classroom (VERY important); and because... well... Lil Wayne, baby!

Over two classes I can definitely say I have 1000% better grasp on PS. I think the greatest impression is my understanding of the artistry which goes into making the most basic of pictures more interesting. The content is excellent, but a recipe is not enough to cook a great meal. There has to be a great cook in the kitchen, with nice guests at the table. Aaron manages all in a great way. This steeps up your learning curve very fast.
Moreover there are video recaps of every class, which helps a lot.
If you're passionate about photography and are willing to spent serious time on processing, get a class from Aaron Nace.

For years I have fumbled around Photoshop just making do with the easer tool. I got a lot out of Aaron's teaching because he not only showed us how to do a cool picture, he taught us techniques that we could use across all our work. The classes were a pleasure to attend and I'll definitely be back for another class. Be warned classes are addictive!
I like how you taught us some fundamental tools in Photoshop that we could use for a whole lot of applications (e.g. channels!). I loved the advanced brushes class. The use is endless. I have also used the lessons from your class "fixin' what's broke" quite a bit. Ah the possibilities are endless with what you teach us. I wish we could pick your brain all day!

Aaron is incredibly patient with all students. He gladly repeats techniques if you don't get it at first, or missed a step. The pace is very good, whether you are a complete novice, or have used PS for a few years. He has a great personality, and is very positive and likeable. The replay videos are available to review at your leisure after the class, which is a huge bonus for review, and also if you miss a class, or part of a class.
Overall, this is a very worthwhile course and well worth the cost if you like hands-on, interactive training.One of the best things I learned was how to make cloned or copied portions of a photo look real with the use of shadow and highlights.

I was sort of in the middle of advance and beginner level but Aaron was very helpful throughout the course and I was able to catch up with the whole class.
Also any photoshop question, or photography related question we had Aaron was kind enough to answer them all. Sometimes Aaron stayed even an hour after the class was done just to answer our questions. We discussed all sorts of cool camera gears and photography techniques.
He always makes sure every one understands what he is doing. The recap videos are also there to help us , the review sessions were super cool and on top of that any question we had we could just email him and get a feedback. This means you get constant help on your photoshop for a whole month. No one can beat that.

Having spent a year learning photoshop on my own I had a good understanding of how things worked, but after taking the class I realized that I was doing many things the long way and missing some key information. Though I'm a work in progress, my productivity and the ability for me to translate the images in my head into a photograph has increased dramatically.
Aaron demonstrated many wild and creative techniques, but I was surprised how much even my basic editing has improved and developed.
He was a thoughtful, well-informed teacher who truly wanted to see his students improve and would go to great lengths to help get them there. What more can one ask for?
This class was worth every penny.
I loved the option of being able to ask every "how do I, or how did they...?" question that I had been carrying around for ages. I enjoyed getting honest, helpful feedback on my work. I liked how clear Aaron was with his explanations, the humor he brought to class, and the wild techniques he simplified.
It is certainly inspiring to see the improvement in my classmates work.
Some of the best things I picked up in class were extracting images from backgrounds very quickly, blending pictures and many many time saving shortcuts.

Overall this was a fantastic class. My post processing grew by leaps and bounds, right from the first class. Excellent format, in a really friendly, laid back environment.
Getting immediate feedback in class and then being able to ask lots of questions outside of the class later also helped very much.
Aaron is a natural teacher, very patient, and has a huge knowledge base in Photoshop. If anyone was having trouble with a specific tool during class, he was immediately able to help them correct it, or find an alternate way to approach the same thing.
This is a great forum, great teacher, great value. I can't recommend it enough.

Really enjoyed the beginner class. I already had a little knowledge in how compositing and color correction works (had worked a little bit in the special effect industry). It was a good introduction to use photoshop and learn a lot of really cool tricks. Aaron is a really good teacher, takes the time to make sure everybody understands, and answers any questions we may have. I'm going to sign up for the advanced class!
Highly recommend the class to anybody who wants to learn how it works, or learn some new tricks. Aaron is a great teacher, and it's a fun couple of hours twice a week.

Aaron is a friendly and funny guy. His personality shines and makes class wonderfully enjoyable. Two days out of every week, for one month, I was giddy with the anticipation of Photoshop class that evening. The possibilities of what I could learn to do were exciting!
Aaron is a wiz at Photoshop from his many years of experience, as I am sure anyone can tell by looking at the amazing work he produces.
This class was better than a course at a school, as it cut the mundane out and jumped directly to the juicy practical application of the most useful tools (advanced class).
Aaron will share with you tips and tricks that I would probably never have learned on my own in Photoshop.
I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to be able to improve their digital post processing, but simply lack the techniques to do so.
With Photoshop in your grasp and Aaron as your light, you will blaze through the darkness that once was digital enhancement.
Of course I would recommend this class to others! Aaron has an awesome personality and is a good teacher, and has all the Photoshop skills necessary to make us all better Photoshop users.

On top of all this you are learning from the best, if you view Aaron's photos online then you would understand what I am referring to. I loved Aaron's advanced course! In four weeks, I have become fairly proficient at numerous compositing, enhancement and retouching techniques including layers and layer masks, advanced brush creation and use, advanced portrait enhancement techniques like surface blur and high pass filters, advanced selection using channels, and so much more. Aaron is a consummate professional, who's photography and post-production skills are both top notch. An online or video tutorial can only teach so much, and generally cannot provide a good enough reason for why it chooses one way of performing a task over another. Here, Aaron not only professed his favorite practices, but also gave his reasoning for his methods over others. Consequently, I not only learned how to do many new things, but also why to do them, and why to do them this way over another.
Buying these lessons has given my work the greatest boost for the time, money, and effort out of any training or lessons I have taken to date. I would happily recommend the class to anybody
My favorite part about the course was the small size and informal nature of it. It felt perfectly natural to ask any questions from day one. Also, I liked the days class ran long so we could just talk camera and lighting geek stuff. In sum, I think my favorite part was the instructor!

Aaron is great at teaching it since he is really easy to get along with and he is very laid back and helpful. The things we covered in class seemed so much easier after the explanations and following online tutorials can be boring compared to this.

I highly recommend taking any photoshop class from Aaron! I have been using photoshop for years and considered myself intermediate, this class took everything i knew to the next level.
